FTN’s Video Game News #3

December 29th, 2012 by Al Keenan the Bald Gamer Dude Comments

Welcome to another edition of FTN’s Video Game News.

As it is the Christmas week news is very slow to appear so it will be a quick one this week.

GTA V New Screenshots:

There were some great new screenshots released this week for Rockstars upcoming sequel Grand Theft Auto V, these include a pic of a one man Submarine, a diver with shark just underneath and Jet plane with possible passenger plane in foreground.

As if we weren’t excited enough about GTA V, every time they release new screenshots the game just looks better and more expansive than ever. Getting your turn on the bottom of the ocean by diving or piloting a sub would be crazy cool. I remember back in GTA: Vice City you would die falling into a pool of water.

Then to see planes back as a mode of transport is great. They seem to have injected the fun back into the game that was dearly missed in GTA IV, that assuming these things are easily accessed in game.

Aliens Colonial Marines Story Trailer:

Who doesn’t love James Cameron’s Aliens? It’s a masterclass of film making, he took the original and added excitement and action. Yet the movie still kept its grounding in claustrophobia.
How about a game that continues on directly on from that film?

Well that’s exactly what Aliens Colonial Marines is, a game that allows you to play as one of the colonial Marines as you search planet LV-426 to investigate what happened in the events of the film.
Whats waiting for them is thousands of Aliens and a hard time.

Sega have released the first trailer that hints at the story and it looks great, it’s not exactly in game footage but this story looks interesting and as long as the gameplay and graphics are on par we will all have a good time gunning down Aliens with our pulse rifles.

See the trailer here.

Dead Space 3 Demo out January:

For those of you looking forward to playing Dead Space 3 a demo will be up on Xbox 360 and PS3 on Jan 22nd.
You will be able to play some of the game both solo and co-operatively. It will allow you to get a feel for the game and its new weapon crafting system.

For those wanting it slightly early on Jan 15th then you can register on EA’s origin under Dead Space 3 and should be allowed early access.

The game is out on Feb 8th 2013 and is a continuation of the Dead Space story.

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 UK Xmas Number 1:

It was no surprise really but Black Ops 2 stayed number 1 for Xmas and looks to remain there for a couple more weeks with very little around to knock it off.
