Lego Batman 2 trailer looks fantastic! Bring on the Justice League!

June 19th, 2012 by Marc 1 Comment

Could this be the best Batman/Superman games yet?

Went Lex Luthor and The Joker join forces to take over Gotham, Batman, Superman and the Justice League must join forces to save the city and maybe the world.
The original Batman Lego game was great fun and this one – now featuring Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman – looks even better.

EW spoke to Jonathan Smith, head of production at Lego games developer TT Games: “Everything we see in this world, we convert into Lego by instinct,” he tells EW with a chuckle. “I don’t mean to sound mystical about it.” Smith does admit, however, that creating a Lego version of Gotham City intricate enough for players to interact with all of it, sandbox style, was rather more complicated. “That required more people, and more meetings,” he says. “We have a sense of Gotham, but Gotham can be many things. Over the decades, it’s taken many different forms.” Smith says his team strove to “feature all the most memorable [Gotham] buildings that we have seen over the decades,” and make them identifiable based on color of the lights surrounding each district. (Ace Chemicals, for example, has a “green glow.”

Here’s the trailer which manages to look very funny, great fun and astonishingly epic. It’s out today folks!

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
