Listen: The Following the Nerd Podcast Ep 93 – “After all this time, now you come to visit me, brother? Why? To mock?”

March 6th, 2014 by Marc Comments

On this week’s jamb-packed show Marc and Saxon – Stephen to the rest of the world – are back on air with all the usual news and reviews, but tonight’s episode is a sad affair too as we look back at the career of one of our absolute heroes, Harold Ramis, who died earlier this week.

We’ll be joined on the show by Anthony Bueno and his lovely sister Claire who are producing Cleanin’ Up The Town, a documentary that celebrates thirty years ofGhostbusters, which was of course co-written by and starred Harold Ramis as Dr Egon Spengler.

We’ll also be joined by one of our favourite guests, IDW Comics’ Ghostbuster writerErik Burnham who will be talking about Ramis and the influence he’s had on him – plus, hopefully he’ll spill a little on the ongoing Mass Hysteria storyline.

On top of all this, as always, we’ll have The Monday Movie Show’s Stuart Millertaking us through the top ten box office movies.

Throw in all the latest nerdy news – from Marvel Movies! upcoming Doctor Strange to Karl Urban’s teasing words about a potential sequel to Dredd.

All this and, do we have our first confirmed actor/villain in Star Wars Episode VII? Hmmmmm… we may just have…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
