Trainspotting and 28 Days later director Danny Boyle is the hot favourite to direct the yet untitled 25th (25! 2 bloody 5…. even police academy gave up after 7) movie in the James Bond franchise.
Both Eon Productions and MGM studios are hoping Mr Boyle will take charge of the next 007 Blockbuster according to knower of all this movie stuff, Variety.
While no formal offer has been made yet to Boyle, sources (how very 007) have told the trade that he is “high on the list” of potential directors for the 25th Bond instalment, with Daniel Craig to reprise his beloved role and star as Bond, James Bond.
Boyle has been on the producers’ radar for some time and was a candidate to direct Skyfall and Spectre and he has had an interest in the job too hoping to put his own mark on the franchise. Boyle’s most recent film was last year’s surprisingly good sequel to Trainspotting, T2.
Here’s to hoping that Mr Boyle can bring a new creative look to Bond.
