Following yesterday’s news that Peter Shinkoda is Hachiro, we’ve got more Daredevil casting news. According to The Hollywood Reporter True Blood star Deborah Ann Woll will play Karen Page.
Page is Daredevils’ longest-running love interest. The character was created by Stan Lee and first appeared in the very first issue of Daredevil in April 1964. She’s the secretary at the law firm of Nelson & Murdock, who eventually becomes Matt Murdock’s love interest and learns of his secret life as a superhero.
Marvel’s Daredevil follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
Woll joins a cast that includes Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Peter Shinkoda as original character Hachiro and Rosario Dawson in an unspecified role.
Marvel’s first original series on Netflix is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Angel) and Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods, Lost, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, in addition to writing the first two episodes of Daredevil), along with Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Smallville, Heroes).
Marvel’s Daredevil is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
