Man, it seems like we’ve been writing about Henry Cavill’s return as Superman for years now. Wait, it has been years! Anyway, we have more news and, if true, this could be a big weekend for fans of the star in the iconic role.
We all know that San Diego Comic-Con [SDCC] is this weekend and Warners/DC are expected to put in a big show for their two big movies coming later this year, Black Adam hitting on October 21st and followed closely after by Shazam! Fury of the Gods on December 21st and it also seems that there might be more heroes in attendance that Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam and Zachary Levi’s Shazam! as Deadline is reporting that Cavill may be set to appear too.
According to their SDCC preview, they say: “Dwayne Johnson and the Warner Bros theatrical session will serve as Marvel’s opening act earlier in the day, with Black Adam and Shazam: Fury of the Gods getting their much-deserved closeups on the Hall H stage. There’s also buzz that Henry Cavill will put in a surprise appearance to talk up more Superman.”
We reported a few weeks back that reports of Cavill appearing as superman in Black Adam seemed to be hinted at by Johnson himself (here) and now we’re wondering if it might happen and, hopefully, see a whole new era of Superman in the DCEU moving forward.
We’ll obviously know more in the next few days, but if it turns out to be true, then DC likely owns this event for us here at FTN.
Thoughts on this one, guys?
