One of my favourite actors working today could be set for a role in Deadpool 2.

Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler is reportedly under consideration for the role of Cable, according to Comic Book.com.

The character was teased in a post-credits scene at the end of the first film so it looks like the filmakers will be following this up with a main role in the sequel for the powerful mutant with a messiah complex.

Comic Book.com is reporting that Mashable’s Jeff Sneider told Meet the Movie Press: “There’s been a name floating around for Cable for months. Hasn’t changed. Don’t know if it’s changed. Didn’t make any calls about this.

“This was just the name that has been out there for months. So take this with a gigantic grain of salt. The biggest grain of salt your tiny little brain can imagine. The name that is floating around for Cable right now is Kyle Chandler.”

Meanwhile, according to the same site the role of Domino, a skilled soldier and expert markswoman, looks set to be played by Mackenzie Davis.

Sneider said: “The name for Domino, who is said to be the scene-stealer of the movie, is Mackenzie Davis.”

Davis was recently seen in The Martian and will appear in the forthcoming Blade Runner sequel.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
