Mission: Impossible 5 Adds Ving Rhames To The Cast

Ving Rhames the only actor other than Cruise to appear in all four of the series’ titles has signed on for the 5th instalment. Mission: Impossible 5 director Christopher McQuarrie made the announcement over twitter with Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner on the ‘cc’. Rhames will reprise his role as tech expert Luther Stickell, which would appear to put him in conflict with Peggs character who seemed to take over that role in the last movie.

Renner who has just finished shooting Age of Ultron and was expected to start shooting a Bourne sequel which may or may not include Matt Damon is a surprising return. His Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol co-star Paula Patton does not appear to be returning as Jane Carter.

Plot details are thin on the ground but Alec Baldwin is rumoured to be involved as the movies villain.

Mission: Impossible 5 is still in pre-production, with a script written by Iron Man 3 co-writer Drew Pearce, and Paramount Pictures currently has the film dated to be released on December 25, 2015

Andrew McCarroll never quite built on the dizzying career heights that he hit at 6 years old, when as a member of the “Ghostbusters” he would charge his neighbours to remove any unwanted spectres. Now retired from slaying spooks, he spends his time obsessing over superheroes (especially Batman) and devouring shows like Dexter, Game of Thrones and Archer in a manner that would make Galactus proud.
