Remember Marvel’s unknown movie set for May 6, 2016?
Well Joblo has heard rumblings that the movie Marvel has planned for that day is none other then a Guardians of The Galaxy sequel.
WB’s Batman vs Superman is currently set for that day, after they delayed the release by 10 months.
The site also reports earlier rumors that an animated series is in the works for the Marvel property, and it’s expected to debut on Disney XD in the fall of 2015.
This would make it a nice lead in to a big screen sequel.
Should the rumor prove true, it would be the shortest gap ever between a Marvel film and its sequel, which is currently the two year span between Iron Man and Iron Man 2.
Guardians of the Galaxy is directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Academy Award winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is set for August 1st, 2014.
