I’m not sure what Superior Spider-Week is, but apparently we need to take note, I hope I get off from work. My best guess is that Marvel will be making a new Spider-Man focused announcement every day of next week, all revolving around the pictures in the teaser. Let’s play shall we?
The first picture is a piece of the cover to May’s Superior Spider-Man #9, to which Marvel promises “The hottest comic in comics comes to a turning point that will get you angrier than you were after Spidey #700!” That would seem to point that this issue will be the beginning of the end for Otto’s time as Spider-Man. Not sure what would make people more mad than 700 though.
The next picture is of villains Beetle, Shocker, and Whizzer. Maybe a new Sinister Six?
The middle picture is obviously Clayton Crain’s Carnage. Maybe another Carnage mini with art by Crain? Will Zeb Wells be back too?
The fourth picture features a new Spider-Man costume drawn by Humberto Ramos. Is this another costume redesign for Otto, or an entirely new member of the Spidey family? Could this be Spider-Man 2099? He has been rumored to be making a return for a while now.
The last picture shows Spider-Man either fighting alongside or against the Avengers. It looks to be Chris Yost’s Avenging Spider-Man.
Whatever this teaser is hinting at, we’ll find out soon enough.
