While all eyes are currently on Spider-man: No Way Home – which I should be watching right now but can’t as that damned virus has arrived at Nerd HQ – we would be doing well to remember that there’s more going on in Sony’s Spider-man universe than just the new Spidey movie.
In a new interview, Sony’s Amy Pascall was asked about the third Venom movie and confirmed that it was indeed on the horizon.
At the end of Venom: Let there be Carnage Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Venom found themselves in a reality that was not their own, a reality that very much seemed to be the MCU as Tom Holland’s Spider-man appeared on the TV, with the story being about his unmasking and murder of Mysterio at the end of Spider-man: Far From Home.
“We are in the planning stages right now but what we are focused on is getting everybody to come and see No Way Home,” Pascall says.
So, while you, like me, may have thought the second Venom movie meant that Eddie Brock was now firmly in the MCU, it seems that no, he will be returning to the Sony universe at some point in the not-so-far future.
So, there you have it, more Venom is coming… is this good news? Or bad? Let me know your thoughts, folks…
