Another Shaw family member joins the cast of Hobbs & Shaw

The Fast & Furious spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw has just added another pretty damned cool cast member.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared and image of new character Hattie Shaw who will be played by Mission Impossible: Fallout star Vanessa Kirby and, in Mission: Impossible she was related to one of the franchise’s first villains and here, to, she is related to a character from the franchise.

Hattie is the sister, as the name suggests, of Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw and also Luke Evans’ Owen Shaw. and Fast and the Furious 6 villain, Owen Shaw (Luke Evans). Oh, yes and she’d be Magdalene Shaw’s daughter (continues after video):

Johnson wrote of Shaw: “Hattie loves the following/ Longs walks on the beach. Being a bad ass MI6 Operative. Drinking tequila with Hobbs. And not in that order. Hattie also happens to be the sister of Deckard Shaw, who’s played by @jasonstatham. It tortures him that his sister Hattie is kickin’ it with Hobbs. His pain makes me very happy. But what makes me happier is welcoming this crazy talented actress and cool chick to our movie. Havin’ a blast together. Building out the franchise step by step. #HattieShaw #MI6BadAss #TequilaDrinkerWithHobbs HOBBS & SHAW ”

We loved her in Fallout and, yes, Netflix’s The Crown, so we’re really excited for her in this.
