With word being that Shazam! is a cracking little watch and even possibly an Aquaman-type success for Warners/DC, it’s no surprise that news has come up about the long delayed Black Adam movie.
Over four years after Dwayne Johnson signed on to star as the anti-hero, we were starting to give up hope, but now we have news.
Word is that writer Adam Szytkiel has handed in a script that the top cats at Warners are pretty excited about and it, like Birds of Prey and Suicide Squad 2, will really expand the DC universe in more exciting directions.
Word is they are currently looking for an actor aged between 30 and 39 to play Carter Hall AKA Hawkman!
On top of this, the studio is looking for an actor and actress aged 20 to 29 to play Atom Smasher and Stargirl as the duo tend to be portrayed as a couple in the comics.
Interestingly, the first Suicide Squad movie was set in Midway City, home of Hawkman and Hawkgirl in the comics… and The Doom Patrol, who are currently the stars over on the DC Universe streaming service.
Black Adam is set to begin filming on March 2020 and we expect more exciting news in the coming weeks and months.
