One of the biggest things that got fans talking about Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom – apart from the stupidest ending ever put on film – was the return of Jeff Goldblum as Ian Malcolm, his character from the original Jurassic Park trilogy.
He joined BD Wong who returned on both Jurassic World movies as Henry Wu and it seems that fans love a good returning character, tying the story together (we do).
And so, now, we’re hearing that director Colin Trevorrow has plans for another classic character to return.
Speaking to MTV (full interview below), Trevorrow said: “We felt like this was [Ian] Malcolm’s return… this was his… let him have his moment. I feel that way about everyone, especially Laura [Dern]… she never got to have her own movie. That identified as being something that’s important. We just wanted to put the spotlight on [Goldblum].”
It would, of course be fun to see Dern back in the Dino-verse as Ellie Satler but we would also love to see Sam Neill back as Alan Grant… the two of them had a complicated relationship as revealed in Jurassic Park III, and it could be fun to drop them both in the middle of another dinotastrophe.
What do you think? Would you like to see there original trio back together?
Hopefully the wouldn’t bring them back and never have them all together on screen before killing them all off in an unsatisfactory way. No, no franchise would ever do that.
Thoughts?
Four years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that’s about to erupt. They soon encounter terrifying new breeds of gigantic dinos while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is in cinemas now.
