Well, merely an hour after we reported talks were happening to get Supergirl moved to The CW, home of Arrow, Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, it’s just been confirmed that it has indeed jumped.
Deadline reports: “After weeks of speculation, Supergirl will move from CBS to sister network the CW, which has renewed the superhero drama for a second season. The pickup, which comes hours after the most recent deadline for CBS to make a renewal decision on the freshman series, expands the CW DC superhero universe to four series, all from producer Greg Berlanti, as Supergirl is set to join The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.”
This is great news as many fans were hoping the show would join the others under The CW banner. What it means for season 2 is unknown at this stage… will we get a resolve to the first season’s cliffhanger? Heck, will it even be the same Supergirl, given that the first season was a Supergirl not from Earth 1 (although we’ve reported that she DOES exist on Earth 1 too).
So while we’re excited to have Kara Jor-El back, we’re curious in what form.
