With Fast & Furious 7 (or just Furious 7 in the US) being Universal’s first movie to pass the $1billion mark on first release, it’s hardly a surprise that the eighth instalment has just been confirmed.
Vin Diesel, at CinemaCon, announced that Furious 8 is coming to theaters on April 14, 2017.
Nothing else is known, but rumours over the last few weeks hinted that it would see the return of Eva Mendes’ character Monica Fuentes and would be set in New York.
As for director, nothing is known yet, but we’d say it’s a safe bet that Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky and Lucas Black will all be back for the first movie in the franchise to not feature the late Paul Walker. We’d say it’s a safe bet that Jason Statham, Ronda Rousey and Kurt Russell will be back too.
Yes, we’re very excited…
