It’s safe to say that Disney had a mega-hit on their hands with 2013’s Frozen, a movie so embedded in the zeitgeist children are still asking their long suffering parents if they’d like to construct some form of snow – person well over a year after it’s release.
So it comes as no surprise that the studio is in development of a full blown sequel, they tweeted “Forecast: Winter weather ahead! @DisneyAnimation developing #Frozen2.” Disney also tweeted an image of main characters Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Sven hinting at their return in the follow up, as well as confirming that directors of the first film Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee are to helm the sequel. Lee tweeted: “At last, I can say – FROZEN 2!!!! I’m beyond excited to create alongside my Frozen family!”
No word on a release date as of yet, but the short Frozen Fever is attached to the upcoming live action Cinderella movie at the end of this month.
