Ian McKellan says he would love Elizabeth Olsen to be his daughter… Magneto and Scarlett Witch fans, have at it…

Sir Ian McKellan has given the fans of the MCU/Marvel/X-Men something really big to chew on in a new tweet in response to Elizabeth Olsen.

So X-Men fans will know that in the comics Scarlett Witch was the daughter of Magneto; sadly, due to Fox owning X-Men and Disney owning the majority of Marvel characters at the time of Olsen playing Scarlet Witch in the MCU, it was never possible to make the two characters father and daughter… however, with Disney now owning Fox and, in turn, the X-Men, it means that with some retconning, it could possibly come to be at some stage in the movies.

In a new interview, Olsen was asked which Magneto actor, Michael Fassbender, who played the younger Magneto in the later X-Men movies, or the original Sir Ian McKellan.

You can watch the interview below, but Olsen replies: “I’m gonna go with Sir Ian McKellen. I had the biggest crush on him!”

She then adds: “He’s in these videos called Playing Shakespeare, where actors get together and they do Shakespeare, and he’s like the sexiest man in the world.”

Now, we’d all love to see this happen in the movies and, given the recent release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we feel it could certainly be on the cards at some stage, however, for now, it’s still a way a ways; but the best part was McKellen’s retweeting the interview, below, and commenting: “If I had a daughter, I’d hope she’d be like Elizabeth. A treat to be her Daddy!”

The fact that this duo are now aware of each other and, with Sir Patrick Stewart now being in the MCU, well, sort of (here), we reckon that Sir Ian, who is good mates with Stewart, is definitely aware of the fact that he could soon be getting a call from Marvel boss Kevin Feige.

But look, no matter the outcome, we are just loving the fun of all this and we can always live in hope. Can’t we?

Thoughts?

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
