So, a few days ago there was a rumour that Idris Elba may be back in the running for the role of James Bond.

We didn’t report on it because, well, there didn’t seem to be anything concrete to it.

Word is that Bond producer Barbara Broccoli believes that it’s not a matter of if but rather when an actor of colour will become the world’s greatest spy.

“It is time….it will happen eventually,” she said.

She went on to add that Idris Elba is the man for the gig, in spirit at least: “Idris could do it if he was in shape. You need a guy with physically strong presence. Idris has that.”

James Bond 25 will be directed by Danny Boyle and sees Daniel Craig back as 007; Helena Bonham Carter is reportedly set to be the villain of the piece. .

Bond 25 is scheduled to be released in North Amercian theaters on November 8, 2019, with a UK release scheduled for October 25, 2019.

Anyway, Elba stoked the fires himself by putting out an enigmatic tweet mimicking the famous ‘Bond, James Bond’ line from the movies.

Here’s the Tweet:

Mind you, shortly after he tweeted:

Honestly, we doubt he’s set for Bond at this stage… but Never Say Never. I’ll get my coat.
