After we reported a few days ago that Flash star Ezra Miller was confident the standalone movie is definitely coming (here), it now looks a pretty high profile director is attached.
Now, I’m excited at this idea, but Flash fans will know we’ve been this far before…
Anyway, IT and IT Chapter 2 director Andy Muschietti, currently doing the press tour for the horror sequel was asked if the DC hero was his next project and he replied: “Yup.”
But, not done there, he gave a few hints about how he’d approach the movie, with the question being if he’d use his horror background in the movie, to which he replied: “I don’t think so. What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it. The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”
Fun? Human story? Drama? That sounds like a good start for Barry Allen’s first big screen adventure.
What say you all? Andy Muschietti for The Flash? I think it’s a cracking start… hopefully we can finally see this happen: It’s been a long time coming, after all.
Here’s Muschietti wearing a Flash cap while promoting IT Chapter II. Just because.
