We’ve known for a while now (here) that Suicide Squad and Peacemaker writer and director James Gunn would be back at Warner Bros/Dc developing a new project and, after how good Suicide Squad was, we’d be more than happy to see it.
And now Gunn has revealed online that he is already developing a new project, saying quite explicitly: “Yes, I’m developing another DC project besides Peacemaker.”
Gunn’s Peacemaker series starring John Cena, is set for release on HBO Max early next year and today we got our first look at the series (here).
The show will be a continuation from his The Suicide Squad movie which, itself was a continuation from David Ayer’s Suicide Squad movie.
As for what the project is, we have no idea but Gunn did say a while ago that is he developed a new DC project “It’s not what anybody would expect, I’ll tell you that much”. He has also expressed interest in another project with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn (here).
We all know that The Suicide Squad performed poorly at the box-office but it seemed to perform very well for HBO Max as it was a dual release, so it appears Warners are still very happy for him to work with them once he is done with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special at Disney/Marvel.
Will we hear more at Dc Fandome on October 16th? Hard to say at this stage… but we certainly wouldn’t rule it out.
Yes, I’m developing another DC project besides Peacemaker.
