While our friends in the US have to wait for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad to hit screens (we’ve seen it, it’s pretty darned good), we’re already wondering what’s next for him in the DCEU.
We already know that in January he’s taking John Cena’s Peacemaker character from The Suicide Squad and giving him his own spinoff series on HBO Max (here) but after that, we know he’s heading back to Marvel Studios to finally make Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (here) but we’re wondering if he’s planning on coming back to DC and, if so, is there a particular project he’d like to work on.
Speaking to Screenrant, he’s said that he does indeed have an idea where he wants to go next…
When asked if he’d tell what it was, he teased: “No. It’s not what anybody would expect, I’ll tell you that much.”
Hmmmmmmm…
So, that could mean he wants to do something off the wall and James Gunn-esque like a Danny the Street movie or something with the Metal Men or, because e teased it’s not what we would expect, we’re wondering if he’s thinking something more mainstream… like a Superman or Batman movie, maybe Green Lantern or Martian Manhunter.
It’s really hard to know but it is good to know that he’s interested in coming back for more because, after the fun I had with The Suicide Squad, I’d happily come back for more.
What about you all?
