We’ve known for a while now that Jared Leto was returning as the Joker for the upcoming Zack Snyder’s Justice League (here) and now, like the rest of us, he’s hoping that when the event series hits HBO Max this March.
On top of that, he’s hoping we will see the Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad hit the streamer service soon too, with writer/director David Ayer saying his version of the movie is “almost complete except for some visual effects”.
Leto continued: “I would love for him to be able to work on that and make the film of his dreams… It’s always hard when you make these movies because it’s such a pressure cooker. There are so many decisions that have to be made in a short amount of time. My hat’s off to the directors, the producers, and the studios. It’s not easy.”
However, we have reported several times that the release of the Snyder Cut may be a platform for Snyder’s DC universe to get a kickstart… but would he be up to play Joker again? “hard to say no,” is the star’s response.
Personally, I really liked Leto’s Joker and think Warner and DC’s treatment of Leto, especially with him missing from Birds of Prey, has been pretty bad and, for that reason alone, I’d love to see him back as the Clown Prince of Crime.
What say you all? Let me know…
Zack Snyder’s Justice League premieres on HBO Max in March 2021.
