It’s been confirmed that X-Men spinoff, New Mutants, has found its first two stars…
first off, it’s been no secret that Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams (above, right) was rumoured attached to the movie (here) but now it’s been confirmed that she will play Scottish mutant Wolfsbane who can turn into a wolf/werewolf type creature which conflicts with her religious beliefs.
Next up, Split and The Witch star Anya Taylor-Joy (above, left) will star as Russian mutant, Magik, a character who has magic abilities, travels by teleportation and is the sister of the already established in the X-Men universe, Colossus.
Director Josh Boone is hoping to kick off filming in June from a script he wrote with Knate Gwaltney.
The New Mutants were created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod in the 1980s and were the first X-Men spin-off series.
The movie will also focus on Native American Danielle Moonstar, Brazilian ladies man Sunspot, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball and an alien named Warlock.
This also means that both Game of Thrones actresses Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner are officially X-Men with Turner now playing Jean Grey in the main X-Men movies.
