So, you may recall a couple of weeks back I reported that there were rumours that Venom may be being considered for the third MCU Spider-man movie (here).
More specifically, Tom Hardy’s Venom from the movie that came out last year and was definitely not part of the MCU.
Now, there have been rumours that Sony, who still own the rights to Spider-man, will be pushing for their movies to join the MCU if Spidey is to remain as part of the Avengers.
Which leads us to this new report.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, at a press event for Spider-Man: Far From Home, was asked about the possibility of Spider-man and Venom meeting on the big screen and he basically said that it’s out of his hands and, ultimately, the decision lies with
“I think probably it’s up to Sony. Sony has both those characters and, has Venom in their world.
“I don’t know what their plans are for another Venom or if they’re doing that. But it seems likely at some point.”
Now, we all know the two characters met in Spider-man 3 but so far since the creation of the MCU the two have not met on screen and this news definitely doesn’t confirm that Hardy’s Venom will meet Holland’s Peter Parker… but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I do think it’ll happen and, personally, I hope it does.
