Waaaay back in September 2019 it was revealed that Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige was set to develop his own Star Wars movie and, while it had all our collective attention, it pretty much never went any further…
Until now.
Now it seems that creator of the Loki Disney+ series and screenwriter of Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Michael Waldon, left, is on penning duties for the Marvel Studios President and Marvel Chief Creative Officer’s Star Wars outing.
“Waldron previously inked a massive overall deal with both Disney and Marvel, a rare occurrence for either studio in recent history, and is reportedly being sought out to return as head writer and showrunner for a rumored second season of the Tom Hiddleston-fronted Disney+ series, with the first season currently slated to debut in May. Given his being attached to two of the major brands owned by Walt Disney Studios, it appears that the House of Mouse is very happy with his work thus far and will continue to utilize his mind in big projects in the future.”
Waldron has also written and produced on hit series Rick and Morty, so his nerd credits are very real, indeed.
Many of us expected an update on Feige’s Star Wars movie at the Disney Investor Day (here) but alas, as with Taika Waititi’s Star Wars movie, nothing appeared, so it may well be a long time before we see either project hitting the screen – large or small – especially since Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron movie is set to take the Christmas 2023 slot.
What say you all? A Kevin Feige Star Wars? Is that floating your boat? I want to know…
