Remember we posted yesterday that a funeral scene was filmed for Captain America: Civil War (here)? And remember we speculated who might have died?

Well, it’s been confirmed from a leaked onset pic.

According to Comicbookmovie: “The following image was taken by one of the extras on the set of Captain America: Civil War last week and first surfaced on Tumblr. It’s definitely real (Marvel apparently asked the user who published it on the site to take it down, but it’s since been shared there – and on Twitter – thousands of times), and confirms what we all suspected when the images of Chris Evans and Emily VanCamp first surfaced. This also echoes a moment in Ed Brubaker’s Captain America run, which has so far obviously served as major inspiration for the Russo Brothers’ take on the character.”

Yes, it’s the death of Agent Peggy Carter, closing the circle that was started in Captain America: The First Avengers.

So, we reckon this was worked out already but it’s a sad day for comic – and movie – fans.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
