While we all wait to hear more on Suicide Squad 2, Joker and Harley and Gotham City Sirens, it seems Warners/DC still have plans for Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn.

According to Deadline, a Harley animated series aimed at an adult market is in the planning stages from the guys who produced Powerless, Halpern, Schumacker and Lorey.

The series is expected to star Robbie as Harleen Quinzel, although it’s far from nailed down at this stage.

The story will see Harley finally cut lose from Joker and set out to rule Gotham’s criminal underworld herself.

It is also likely to feature Poison Ivy and a large variety of familiar movie and comic faces.

The series will follow in the tracks of the live-action Teen Titans series, Titans, and the newly revived Young Justice as part of the new DC digital platform operated by Warner Bros. Digital Networks Group.

The hopeful inclusion of Robbie in the series has us wondering if perhaps this will be part of the DC Cinematic Universe or if it will simply be a fun little standalone series.

Whatever the outcome, we’ll keep you up to date as the details arrive…
