Following on from Split, this year’s sort-of sequel to Unbreakable, M Night Shyamalan is moving forward on his plans for a third film set in the same continuity.
Unbreakable actors Spencer Treat Clark and Charlayne Woodard have been confirmed as reprising their roles from the first film, joining Bruce Willis, Samuel L Jackson, Anya Taylor-Joy, and James McAvoy in reprising their roles from the other two movies. Clark played Joseph Dunn, the son of Willis’s unbreakable hero David Dunn, while Woodard played Mrs Price, the mother of Samuel L’s villain Elijah Price/Mr Glass.
From what we know so far, it seems that Glass will involve David Dunn pursuing McAvoy’s superhuman personality The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Mr Glass again emerges, apparently holding secrets critical to both men. Touch wood, it seems that Shyamalan’s long spell of producing terrible movies might be at an end. At least we hope so.
Glass is scheduled for release on 18 January 2019.
