Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker teaser drops

Okay, it’s fair to say that not all of us were big fans of The Last Jedi.

In my case, that’s putting it mildly. So to say that I took the news of a teaser trailer for Episode IX dropping during today’s main panel at Star Wars Celebration with a degree of trepidation is no exaggeration. But people, we have just witnessed something special. And as you can see from the picture above, we have a name.

I’ll be honest, for all the pleasing visuals, Billy Dee Williams and apparent Carrie Fisher deleted footage cameo, I wasn’t sold. But then, that closing moment… and the laugh… Merciful Zeus!

And if we can find any footage of Ian McDiarmid appearing on stage after the trailer ran at Star Wars Celebration, issuing the order to roll it again and doing an actual frikkin’ mike drop!, we’ll post it here. You have been warned.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker will be released on 20 December 2019.
