With Star Wars: The Force Awakens awash with brand new characters, it’s no wonder that one or two of them were cut to accommodate the film’s final runtime. One such character was Unkar Plutt, but thanks to a new deleted scene, we now know what fate originally had in store for him.
Simon Pegg’s junk dealing bully was a character many fans gladly left behind on Jakku. Those who read the novelisation of the film know that there’s a little more to his story, and thanks to the upcoming 3D Collector’s Edition Blu-ray release, everyone gets to see what happens when he reappears later in the film.
For those who don’t want to know, SPOILERS lie ahead…
Following the Millennium Falcon to Maz Kanata’s castle on the planet Takodana, the deleted scene shows Plutt coming out of nowhere and cornering Rey. She pulls a weapon on him, but he quickly snatches it away.
Then, always the lovable hero, Chewbacca steps in to help his new pal out. Disarming Plutt – no, literally, Chewie rips his arm clean off – the Wookie is then scolded by Warwick Davis’ character Wollivan after the recently removed ligament lands on one of the establishment’s gambling tables.
This is why you let the Wookie win.
The new 3D Blu-ray is released on 15th November.
