New Warner Bros boss wants Henry Cavill back as Superman ahead of any other projects

So, yesterday we learned that Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav has big plans for many things but, for the sake of this article, the one we’re most interested in is DC Comics properties.

Studio chief Toby Emmerich departed the studio earlier this week – much to the delight of many DC fans, especially Snyder fans – and word is they now want, much like the MCU, someone to oversee DC and bring it all under one cohesive vision which, while I love DC movies, is definitely a good idea.

According to new reports, from reliable sources, Zaslav has instructed his team to “scratch every Superman project in development and start fresh with Cavill”.

Word is that Zaslav knows the fans, even the ones who didn’t care for the likes of Batman V Superman, love Cavill as the Man of Steel and are crying out for him to be brought back and wants his Superman at the centre of the DC movies shared universe moving forward. We’re not sure what ‘start fresh’ means and are wondering if he wants to scrap what went before or if he wants to see the story left off from Justice League continued. We’re also not sure where this leaves current projects like The Flash which was reportedly setting up Sasha Calle’s Supergirl to take over from Superman who would be killed in the movie (here).

As for the projects in development, we know that JJ Abrams was producing a producing a black-Superman-led movie focusing on Kal-El (here) while Micheal B Jordan was developing another black-Superman project based on the character Val Zod (here). What the future of these movies will be is unclear, but while we would have liked to see them, we really want to see Cavill back as the prime Superman first. Maybe Zaslav is thinking along the same lines?

What say you all? Do you want to see Cavill back in the blue and red? I know we here at FTN HQ really do. Let me know your thoughts…
