Well, honestly, at this stage I had assumed the Metal Gear Solid movie was never going to happen as the first game is now 22 years old, but it seems that, nope, it’s coming.
And on top of that, the cool news is that Oscar Isaac has nabbed the lead role of Solid Snake and honestly, that’s a cracking bit of casting.
The movie – which has stop/started many times over the years – is written by Derek Connolly and will be directed by Kong: Skull Island’s Jordan Vogt-Roberts.
So it looks like it’s really happening at last.
Sony/Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid game franchises is up there with the likes of Resident Evil and Tomb Raider and given that it’s all about spies, espionage and crazy action – with healthy does of nuclear armageddon and giant metal walkers, the fact that a movie has not been made yet is crazy, given that Tomb Raider is already in its movie reboot and the Resident Evil one is in development.
But finally, it’s coming.
Although hen it comes, is another question… given Isaac’s busy schedule, it could still be a few years away.
What say you all? Are you still excited about a Metal Gear movie or has that ship sailed? Let me know your thoughts, gang…
