Ridley Scott teases storyline for planned Gladiator III

October 10th, 2024 by Marc Comments

It seems that, while we waited 24 years for a second Gladiator movie, we may not have so long to wait for a third movie if director and writer Ridley Scott has anything to do with it. And as long as it makes money at the box office presumably.

Scott has revealed that he’s already well into developing the third installment and promises that it will be a very different movie than the first two.

“I’ve already got eight pages. I’ve got the beginning of a very good footprint,” Scott has teased about the third movie, “If there’s a Gladiator 3, I don’t think you’d ever go back into the arena. But I had to go back into the arena…”

This comment shows that Scott is not afraid to change up the recipe, should a third movie come.

In the meantime, check out the new Gladiator II featurette below as we wait for the movie’s November 15th release.

With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.
