It looks like things are going to be getting pretty hairy for Ryan Gosling.
The star has been tipped to play the Wolfman in the next instalment in the Universal Monsters series, following on from Elizabeth Moss’ The Invisible Man at the end of last year.
“Universal have been meeting with directors over the past month and could be making a decision soon on who will take the reins behind the camera. While there is no frontrunner at the time, Cory Finley, who recently received rave reviews for directing HBO’s drama “Bad Education” with Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney, is said to be in the mix for the job.”
While Universal pulled the plug on their Dark Universe cinematic universe a while back, they are pushing forward with movies based on the most famous of their nightmarish creatures.
Like The Invisible Man, The Wolfman is expected to take place in the modern day and is written by Orange is the New Black’s Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo and is based on an original pitch by Gosling himself.
James Wan, Paul Feig and John Krasinski have all pitched ideas for Universal Monster movies to the studio and we’re waiting to hear if any/all get the green light.
No word on when The Wolfman might begin filming, but we’ll keep you guys posted as we are known to do…
What say you all?
