While we did like Jurassic World, one thing that was missing was Alan Grant, played by Sam Neill. And, by the same token, haven’t you ever been watching a Marvel movie and thought: “You know what the MCU needs? More Sam Neill…”.

Well, the actor has been chatting to The Shortlist (full video below) and revealed a couple of things about both franchises.

“I did a couple of days on Thor just before I came over here,” Neill revealed,“if I say anything else, Marvel’s secret agents, and they are lethal, will come and get me and probably my children, as well.”

Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi helmed Neill’s latest movie, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, so the tow are familiar with each other. So feel free to begin speculating who Neill will be in the MCU… our guess is anyone at all because we love the guy!

As for Jurassic World 2? Well, it’s not looking like he’ll be returning anytime soon as the actor reckons his character, Alan Grant would have retired by now and is probably “sick to death of dinosaurs.”

Well, we’re disappointed that he won’t be back for dino-hunting but the idea of him in the MCU almost makes up for it.

What about you guys?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
