Could Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part II be adding two of Hollywood’s biggest names to its roster?
With Robert Pattinson set to suit up as the Dark Knight again next year (for a 2027 release), and still nothing known about the plot or new villains, every bit of news is worth checking out, but few get as big as this.
Firstly, it’s been confirmed that Black Widow herself, Scarlett Johansson, is in talks with director Reeves about a role in the new movie, leaving the DCU behind for the cold, dark Gotham streets. While there is no word on who she would be playing, with many suggesting Poison Ivy (no and no, thanks), my money is on Andrea Beaumont/Phantasm, the character created for Batman: Mask of the Phantasm wjo was a past love of Bruce Wayne’s who had a vendetta, not against Batman, but with many powerful names in Gotham City.
Robert Pattinson’s Batman was considered to appear in The Sandman season 2
As well as this, it seems that Brad Pitt, yes, really, could also be set for a role in the comic book sequel.
Now, while this is a rumour and nothing more for now, the chatter comes from the involvement of Pitt’s production company, Plan B, being involved in the sequel… but why? Well, it could be nothing but, hear me out… Brad Pitt as Harvey Dent/Two-Face? Yes, please.
In the reverse news, it seems that Zoë Kravitz will not be returning as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
UPDATE: It seems that Johansson will play Gilda Dent, wife of Harvey Dent. It also seems that Pitt will not appear in the movie but was at one point offered the role of Harvey’s father, Christopher Dent. This means that Harvey will also appear and, with previous rumours saying the villain of this movie has never been done before, it can only mean one thing… Long Halloween fans will know.
This movie is going to be top-notch if this all means what we think it means.
The Batman Part II will star Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and we may see more of Barry Keoghan as the Joker.“The
Batman: Part I is set for October 1st, 2027.
