SPOILERS: The Mandalorian and Grogu movie’s villain is a great Star Wars deep cut

Ok, look, for a lot of people, this news will mean very little but for me, as a massive fan of the character in question, I think it’s great news!

So it seems that the villain – or at least one of the villains – of Jon Favreau’s upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie has been revealed and it’s a bit of a Star Wars deep cut.

Word is that the bounty hunter Embo who was a big part of the Boba Fett arcs in The Clone Wars series, will be the bad guy at the forefront of the next Star Wars movie and, just like in The Clone Wars, Embo will be voiced by Dave Filoni.

The Bear star Jeremy Allen White joins Mandalorian & Grogu movie but you’ll never guess as who!

We reported a few weeks back that The Bear star Jeremy Allen White will play Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rota the Hutt in the movie – he’s another Clone Wars character – and unlike the Hutts we know, he’ll be a jacked Hutt who can handle himself in a fight; well, now it seems that in The Mandalorian and Grogu Embo will be trying to kill Rota while Mando and everyone’s favourite little green guy will be trying to protect him

Embo may have been hired by other Hutts – reportedly the brother and sister who gave Boba Fett his pet Rancor in The Book of Boba Fett – in the movie.

In the expanded lore, Embo gave up his mercenary ways and aided the rebellion in the Battle of Jakku, so if they stick to this, it’ll be interesting to see just how he ends up trying to kill Rota and going up against Mando.

I’ve also heard that in the movie, Grogu will be older and will be more of a character than he was in the Mandalorian series.

Embo is a total badass and, if this is true, I might finally have a Black Series Embo on my shelf. Win, win.

Thoughts?
