So, it seems that there’s some news on the upcoming big-screen Star Wars movies, so let’s get into the news in good to bad news order.

First up, it seems the Jon Favreau’s Mandalorian and Grogu movie has completed filming and is still set for its May 2026 release, with news being that it might be planned as a trilogy or possibly more… so it really seems the TV series is now a series of movies as recently speculated.

Next up, James Mangold’s Dawn of the Jedi movie is all set to begin filming as early as next year and we’ll keep you updated on both as and when we hear anything new.

And finally, the planned Rey movie has suffered a blow that will likely mean it will be delayed if not paused indefinitely.

Screenwriter Steven Knight has reportedly departed the project meaning that it is currently sitting in development hell.

Many believed a Rey return was a bad idea, given the poor reception of The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker by fans but many, ourselves included, who loved Rey in The Force Awakens (and in the later two movies despite the terrible writing) believe that Daisey Ridley’s Rey deserves a good movie to make the fans love her again… we might never know if that planned movie was what she needed.

So, one movie finished, one about to start and one stuck rudderless for now. Welcome to being a star Wars fans…

Thoughts, I wanna hear them…

Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
