Well, here’s a turn up for the books.
2oth Century FOC has announced it’s rebooting the League of Extraordinary Gentlmen.
Remember the 2003 movie? Let’s be honest, at best it’s a guilty pleasure, at worst its, well, not very good.
The reboot will be produced by John Davis’Davis Entertainment.
No word on if the adaptation will be closer to Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s masterpiece story rather than the barely recognisable mess that was the original movie but we certainly hope so.
We see this as Watchmen meets Batman meets Penny Dreadful: “Jayson Rothwell has been hired to write “The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.” Ira Napoliello and Matt Reilly are overseeing the remake, based on Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill’s graphic novel of the same name, centering on Victorian-era literary characters such as Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde teaming to fight a common enemy.”
Of course we reported there was a TV Show coming in 2013 (here), and all-lady version in 2015 (here) and, yes, a remake in 2015 too (here). SO don’t hold your breath.
High hopes or no thanks? Let us know what you guys thing…
