It looks like Venom: The Last Dance is going to be an ending and a beginning as it introduces supervillain Knull to the big-screen for the first time.
Talking about the third movie recently, star Tom Hardy assured fans that he was done with the character of Eddie Brock/Venom, saying: “That’s our lot – from me and the big guy – we loved every minute,” but it seems that the trilogy-closer will be setting up a much bigger word whether Hardy is part of it or not.
The movie will introduce Knull, an eldritch god of darkness and the creator of the symbiote who may also be the one who cut the head of the Celestial that is now Knowhere, the home of the Guardians of the Galaxy in the MCU. In the comics, he used the symbiote to conquer worlds and galaxies and he’s now set to be a Thanos-level villain in the MCU? The Sony universe?

Speaking about Venom: The Last Dance, director and co-writer Kelly Marcel says: “One movie could never do justice to Knull.”
“We were always aware of Knull,” Marcel goes on, adding: “but knew that we needed to lay the foundation of the Venom character, and his relationship with Eddie, before introducing him. This is just the beginning for Knull.”
After Spider-man: No Way Home, we saw that some of the symbiote was left on the Prime-Earth, the MCU and we also know that Avengers: Secret Wars is set to bring characters from across all Marvel universes together, so it’s very possible that Knull, left, while introduced in Venom: The Last Dance, could become a scourge for the Avengers and Tom Holland’s Spider-man and perhaps a new version of Venom?
“We know full well how important Knull is to the fans, so just as we laid a foundation for Venom, we hope we are doing the same for Knull,” Marcel says, “The King in Black is way too powerful for ‘one and done’.”
“This film introduces Knull, but it just touches the beginnings of his story. Marvel’s greatest film villains are developed over time. Here, Knull is the threat lurking behind the danger that tests the absolute limits of Eddie and Venom’s partnership.”
There’s no denying that the Sony universe hasn’t enjoyed the quality or success of the MCU and while Kraven: The Hunter is also due for release before the end of the year, I honestly, can’t see Knull being set up for the Sony characters to deal with, heck, as of now, they still don’t even have a Spider-man, so I really believe that after this outing, the next time we’ll see him will be in the MCU.
