You, like us, are probably very, very excited about Michael Keaton returning to the Batman suit (here).
The star is to return as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the upcoming Flash movie opposite Ezra Miller in 2022 but in a new interview (below) with Jimmy Kimmel he reveals that he’s not completely in yet (Noooooooooooo!) but is also quite clear on who the best Batman is.
“We’re having discussions, as they say,” Keaton tells Kimmel,“We’re talking about it. We’ll see if it happens.”
Now, personally, I believe this is Keaton being coy – afterall we learned during DC Fandome a couple of months back that Keaton’s Batman is already in the movie’s concept art:
It’s likely he decided being non-commital would likely get him out of having to answer awkward questions but did joke that “all 127” former Batmans (Batmen?) would appear in Flash as we also know that Ben Affleck is back for it too.
However, on the topic of who is the best Batman, the star said simply… “me”. And I’m inclined to agree.
Word is that It director Andy Muschietti’s Flash movie will semi-adapt the Flashpoint story and will see Miller’s hero visiting different earths in the multiverse, which is why we will see several versions of the Gotham Guardian appear.
What say you? Will Keaton return? Will you be annoyed if he doesn’t? And, most importantly, is he the best Batman (he is)?
