As big Scream fans here at FTN, the name Kevin Williamson attached to a slasher flick will always grab our attention.
Williamson wrote the first couple of Scream movies and I Know What You Did Last Summer and now he’s back with a new slasher with the very timely Sick which he co-wrote with Katelyn Crabb.
Set during the pandemic, the movie sees two friends staying in a beach house during lockdown and they’re soon joined a couple of unwanted friends… and a killer.
The scene with the woman demanding the girl put her mask on while the killer comes for her is the most on-the-money representation I have seen of the last three years and the insanity that came with it. And still is n many ways.
The movie is directed by Black Summer’s John Hyams and stars Gideon Adlon, Bethlehem Million, Marc Menchaca and Jane Adams.
As the pandemic steadily brings the world to a halt, Parker and her best friend Miri decide to quarantine at the family lake house alone—or so they think. Directed by John Hyams (Alone), written by Kevin Williamson (Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer) and Katelyn Crabb, SICK stars Gideon Adlon (Blockers, The Craft: Legacy), Bethlehem Million (And Just Like That), Marc Menchaca (The Outsider, Ozark) and Jane Adams (Twin Peaks, Poltergeist, Hacks).
Sick is streaming January 13th on Peacock
