The trailer is here for Confess, Fletch, the new adaptation of Gregory MacDonald.’s iconic reporter/P.I., Irwin ‘Fletch’ Fletcher.
Fletch was made famous by the one and only Chevy Chase, left, in his two 1980s adventures as Fletch, and he left an indelible mark on us all of who exactly Fletch is and new star Jon Hamm, who we love, is far from that.
However, that’s not Hamm’s fault as his take on the character is much more in line with creator Gregory MacDonald’s Fletch in the novels so, while I wouldn’t envy anyone stepping into Chase’s shoes, it looks like they are, smartly, going a different direction with Fletch.
I love the character and am excited to see what Hamm can deliver.
What about you all?
In this delightful comedy romp, Jon Hamm stars as the roguishly charming and endlessly troublesome Fletch, who becomes the prime suspect in a murder case while searching for a stolen art collection.
The only way to prove his innocence? Find out which of the long list of suspects is the culprit – from the eccentric art dealer and a missing playboy to a crazy neighbor and Fletch’s Italian girlfriend. Crime, in fact, has never been this disorganized.
Featuring: Jon Hamm, Roy Wood Jr., Annie Mumolo, Ayden Mayeri, Lorenzo Izzo, Kyle MacLachlan, Marcia Gay Harden
Confess, Fletch hits cinemas and on demand on September 16th.
