Hard as it is to believe, it’s been 12 years since we last had a Riddick movie but hopefully that wait is almost over.

Star of the series and Riddick himself, Vin Diesel, took to Instagram earlier to share a new look at Riddick in the upcoming fourth movie in the series, Riddick: Furya.

Kicking off in 2000, we first met Diesel as Riddick in Pitch black, then again Chronicles of Riddick in 2004 and finally in 2013’s Riddick, but we’ve known for a while that the franchise, which is very personal to Diesel and creator/writer/director David Twohy, was set for a fourth entry at some stage and it’s been filming since last August, so we’re hoping that this new video clip, below, might be teasing a trailer and release date reveal soon.

New details on Chronicles of Riddick: Furya including who the villain is

The franchise has had not just the movies, but an anime short, two very successful video games and a collection of toys, but now, 25 years later, we’re about to see Richard B Riddick return to his home planet of Furya.

I’m a massive, massive fan of these movies, this world and this character, so I cannot wait to see the fourth movie and will be waiting with baited breath for a trailer. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Riddick finally returns to his home world, a place he barely remembers and one he fears might be left in ruins. But there he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against a new monster. And some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than he could have ever imagined.

Check out the brief look at Riddick below:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
