Hard as it is to believe, given how crazy the last couple of years have been, Zack Snyder’s Justice League was released a year ago on Friday past, having hit HBO Max on 18th March 2021.
While the movie arrived with some amount of fanfare and was undoubtedly a big hit for the streamer, and the fans have continued to push for Snyder’s story to be finished, there’s been little movement on it since.
However, one of the big parts of the Justice League story was when we finally got Martian Manhunter, played by Harry Lennix, meeting Bruce Wayne and basically becoming part of the Justice League in the movie’s post-credit scene:
However, as awesome as this was, we had already seen Manhunter in the movie before this scene and it was later revealed that the scene was originally meant to be a Green Lantern scene, more specifically, it was to be actor Wayne T Carr as John Stewart’s Lantern and the scene was filmed and then pulled by Warner Bros.
We know the scene was filmed because we saw the image from it being filmed (here) but we never really got a taste of what exactly the scene would have looked like beyond Snyder sneakily revealing an image of the finished visual effects on his mobile phone (here) but, alas, the image was pretty grainy and low-res.
However, over the weekend, to mark the one year anniversary, Carr revealed the full image on his social media, below, and it looks great.
He wrote on the post: “Give the fans what they want – JL 2/3 #RestoreTheSnyderVerse”. and, despite the often unpleasant element that appears in the Snyderverse fandom, we cannot agree more – after all, we now have a DC Multiverse, so there’s no real reason to not finish the story as we know the fans are there to support and watch the final product.
Originally Warners pulled Green Lantern from the film because of the HBO Max Green Lantern series (here) but so far that project seems to have vanished although we understand that that damned virus made filming and development difficult.
But, given that John Stewart seems to be an official part of the DCEU Justice League now, we’re wondering if perhaps there’s some rumblings – as many believe – that Snyder’s vision may be back on the radar…
Here’s Carr’s post:

So, taking Carr as the official Green Lantern of Snyder’s universe, that means the DCEU Justice League looks something like this:
Looks great to us… so yeah, #RestoreTheSnyderVerse
