Just last night I wrote about my excitement for the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series with the news of Palpatine, Bail Organa and Qui-Gon Jinn all possibly returning (here) and now we have what is, quite simply, the icing on the cake.
We all accepted that after Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, composer John Williams, left, was done with Star Wars, 42 years after Star Wars (now Episode IV: A New Hope but then just plain ol’ Star Wars) first hit cinemas and his iconic score changed the lives of millions of fans and generations of other fans still to come.
But, he’s back for the Obi-Wan series which arrives on May 25th, the 42nd anniversary for the release of Star Wars, so it’s all very… right.
“Williams has written the musical signature” for Obi-Wan, played once more by Ewan McGregor, meaning he has written Obi-Wan’s theme and that has us very, very excited.
This marks Williams’ first TV series work since Amazing Tales in 1985, so this is groundbreaking on many fronts for us fans.
Obi-Wan Kenobi hits Disney+ on May 25th and we are counting the weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds…
