Some cool news for fans of Rick & Morty tonight as it seems Adult Swim has put in an order for Rick & Morty: The Anime.
Just before the Warner Bros Discovery Upfronts earlier tonight, Adult Swim announced that Tower of God director Takashi Sano and Jujutsu Sungho Park’s Ninja Kamui will be looking after the series.

This comes just a day after writer Rob Schrab announced they’re now officially writing season 8 of the iconic series:

The anime series will be completely standalone and will be a ten-episode event that will draw from and develop ideas from the main series in a unique way.

No word on when the anime will arrive or season 8 of the main series but Adult Swim know we’ll be waiting patiently no matter when they arrive.
