The world of superheroes on TV got both bigger and smaller in the last 24 hours, as numerous shows either got picked up for another season, or dropped…for now.
First off, the GREAT news…AGENT CARTER GOT RENEWED!!! YES! YES YES!…ahem, oh and Agents of Shield got renewed as well. This is a huge win for ABC, as now they not only have their shows on basic television, but their other shows on Netflix, giving them a wide net to catch many fans in.
A surprise though has come because of this though. The potential Agents of Shield spinoff, that was set to star Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter, has apparently stalled. It’s unclear if interest just wasn’t there, or whether the renewal of Agent Carter put a stopper on it.
And in sad news, Constantine is cancelled…for now. Yes, I said for now. Why? Because apparently Warner Bros. is shopping for a new home for its smoking “protagonist”. We’ll keep you updated on whether anything happens on that front.
Showrunner Daniel Cerone tweeted earlier today:
.@dccomicsfan We were in play at NBC until today. Studio actively selling show now. Actors under contract thru June. I just report facts.
