Cad Bane set for live-action debut in The Book of Boba Fett?

Bounty hunter Cad Bane is one of the coolest Star Wars characters there is and yet, is one that we haven’t even seen in live-action yet (although the fans have been hoping and praying) but that may be about to change.

With the second live-action Star Wars series, The Book of Boba Fett due to hit Disney+ later this year, we’re hearing all sorts of rumours but one that seems to be the most likely is that Bane will finally make his live-action appearance in the series.

Bane is a Duros alien who, like Fett, hunts people for money. He first appeared in The Clone Wars, quickly becoming a fan favourite, making a big impression on several characters, including a young Boba Fett.

Bane more recently appeared in The Bad Batch animated series, running up again Ming NaWen’s bounty hunter Fennec Shand – Shand will be a big part of The Book of Boba Fett too and, given how both she and Fett have history with Bane, his appearance makes more and more sense.

We especially love how it has been established that the famous laser dent in Boba’s helmet has recently been secured as being Bane’s handiwork.

We’re hearing rumours that Timothy Olyphant would be back as The Mandalorian’s Cobb Vanth as well as bounty hunter Bossk in the Fett series, bt out of all of those, having Bane finally appearing in live-action would certainly be the most fun. Will he be friend or foe? Will his being significantly older alter his character? I can’t wait to find out.

What do you all think? Let me know…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
